Violent video game had been a problem in the Unite States. Many people believe that violent video games should be banned, claiming they have negative effects on people.Violent video game is not like the real-world. Video games have become not only a form of entertainment, but also another way for people to escape reality and to enter their own virtual fantasy. James Gee explains that, if you blame violent video games for horrific events that have occurred is much like putting the blame on food for the cause of obesity. Violent video games should not be ban because violent video games improve your skills, there is less violence, and banning violent video games is against the fourteenth amendment. The 14th Amendment means, that no State has the right to prohibit a person to stop playing violent video games or ban a person to do so. Violent video games already are labeled with a rating system that lets parents decide what games their children can purchase and play. It is true, Violent video games make people act it out in real life. In the article â€Å"Do Violent Video Games Contribute to Youth Violence?† CBS News reported, â€Å"that the shooter at the Dec. 14, 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre â€Å"was motivated by violent video games and a strong desire to kill more people than another infamous mass murderer†Ã¢â‚¬ ¦ likely acting out the fantasies of a video game as he killed 20 first graders and six adults at the school.†(ProCon 9). This explains, how the shooter has been playing violent video games and had a stro ng desire to kill more people because he was fantasies that the real-world was just a game.
